Cacaografías del Río Cauca
Cacaografías is a podcast that maps the soundscapes of cacao in Colombia’s Cauca River Valley. Through the voices of farmers, chocolate makers, social leaders, and academics, it explores the past, present, and future of cacao in a landscape profoundly transformed by sugarcane monoculture.
Designed as an immersive experience, Cacaografías transports listeners into the cacao forest, where sound reveals a magical world of interconnection. The forest is not a passive backdrop but a living, biodiverse soundscape, a web of relationships among countless species that make cacao cultivation possible. Within this orchestra of the agroecosystem, human stories emerge as one voice among many.
